Full Itinerary


Day 1: Toronto - Arrive in Toronto and make your own way to your downtown hotel. The rest of the day is free to enjoy Toronto. Toronto's waterfront - one of North America's largest recreational waterfronts, is a scenic backdrop for many popular and entertaining attractions including Ontario Place, Skydome, the CN Tower, and the Toronto Islands. Downtown Toronto offers museums and art galleries galore including, The Royal Ontario Museum, one of the top 10 museums in the world; the Art Gallery of Ontario, Canada's oldest art gallery and the Ontario Science Centre. Toronto is also home to a great theatre and night scene with many shows that would grace any Broadway or London stage and a selection of evening entertainment venues to suit all tastes. Foodies will be in heaven too, there's more restaurants and eateries in Toronto than anywhere else in Canada; whatever your favourite cuisine you are sure to find it here, or maybe you'll adopt the "when in Rome" attitude and enjoy traditional Canadian or Ontario dishes.

Day 2: Niagara Falls Day Tour - Today enjoy a breath-taking full-day tour through the orchard-laden Niagara Peninsula to Niagara Falls, one of the great natural wonders of the world. You'll get real close to the thundering cascade of water as it drops over the edge to the swirling pools below on your included Hornblower Cruise (or Journey Behind the Falls if weather conditions prevent the boat sailing - normally before mid-May). Enjoy an included lunch overlooking Niagara Falls before free time in picture post card Niagara-on-the-Lake, runner up in the prettiest town in the world completion. The Niagara region is world famous for its wines, so there's a winery tour as well including a wine tasting before returning to Toronto. (L)



Day 3: VIA Rail - Toronto to Jasper - Take some time to explore Toronto before checking in at Toronto's Union Station to board VIA Rail's 'Canadian' for your train journey across the prairies to the Canadian Rockies (train departs at 10pm). Travel back in time to the days of classic rail travel. The original stainless steel 'streamliner' railcars, made famous by the 'Canadian' in the 1950's, are totally refurbished with air conditioning, a cafe car, lounge car, and access for all on board to the dome car.


Exclusive to Sleeper Touring Class: By day, sit back in comfortable armchairs and enjoy the stretch out comfort of your very own accommodation. At night attendants will transform your bedroom into cosy bunks.

Day 4: VIA Rail - Canadian Train - Today is spent crossing the scenic lakelands of Northern Ontario. (B, L, D)



Day 5: VIA Rail - Canadian Train - Continue west through the provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan, the breadbasket of Canada with its golden wheat fi elds starching as far as the eye can see. (B, L, D)



Day 6: Arrive Jasper - This morning awake to arrive in the city of Edmonton, Alberta, after a brief stop continue on for the final leg of your rail journey to Jasper. This small alpine community located in the majestic Canadian Rockies will be home for the next two nights. Jasper National Park was established in 1907 and is the largest national park in the  Rockies. With over 4,000 acres of alpine forests, white-water rivers, hot springs, soaring mountain peaks and tranquil river valleys there's little chance you'll see it all! Perhaps you'll visit the limestone gorge of Maligne Canyon or volcanic Medicine Lake, named by tribal elders who believed its waters had healing powers. Admire the breath-taking beauty of glacially fed Maligne Lake and perhaps cruise to Spirit Island. (B)

Day 7: Jasper & Evening Wildlife Tour - Today is at your leisure to enjoy the spectacular wonders of Jasper. This evening experience the Jasper Wonderland for some amazing close-up photo opportunities of wildlife. Destinations can include the Maligne Valley and the Pyramid Bench with its beaver ponds.



Day 8: Jasper - Lake Louise - Travel by coach today via one of the most scenic highways in North America - the Icefi eld Parkway. Visit the Columbia Icefi eld that covers an area of nearly 325 sq km's and reaches a depth of 320 metres. Time allows for an included Ice Explorer ride on the Athabasca Glacier. Along the way stops will be made at Bow & Peyto Lakes, the Crowfoot Glacier and Athabasca Falls. Hotel: Deer Lodge. (L)



Day 9: Lake Louise - Banff - Depart Lake Louise mid-morning for a short drive via the scenic Bow Valley to Banff , arriving midday. Banff sits in the country's fi rst National Park and is an all year round resort. There's a great selection of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants along Banff Avenue and downtown.


Hotel for 2 nights: Banff Ptarmigan Inn.



Day 10: Banff - This morning, tour through the town of Banff and its environs. Among the highlights are visits to the Hoodoos (shaped by centuries of wind), Surprise Corner, Sulphur Mountain (gondola ride included), and Tunnel Mountain Drive - which overlooks the splendour of Bow Valley and the Cave and Basin where Banff‘s history began. Enjoy the afternoon on your own to explore this charming resort. (B)





Day 11: Rocky Mountaineer - Banff to Kamloops - All aboard Rocky Mountaineer in SilverLeaf Service for the scenic rail journey of a lifetime. Cross the continental divide as you pass through the spiral tunnels in Yoho National Park, a remarkable engineering achievement. Continue on through the Rogers Pass in Glacier National Park with endless views on snow-capped mountains and stunning glaciers. (B, L)

Day 12: Rocky Mountaineer - Kamloops to Vancouver - Follow the Thompson River and pass through Rainbow Canyon with its cliffs striped with pinks, greens and greys creating a stunning affect. The last leg of the journey takes you through the lush farming region of the Fraser Valley to arrive in the pacific port of Vancouver late afternoon. On arrival transfer to your hotel (not included). Hotel for 2 nights: Rosedale on Robson.



Day 13: Vancouver City Tour - This morning see the sights of Vancouver on an included city tour. You'll see the chic shopping boulevard of Robson Street, visit 1,000 Acre Stanley Park, famous for its Totem Poles, see Prospect Point and English Bay Beaches, the funky artists hotspot of Granville Island, Chinatown and historic Gastown. The rest of the day is at leisure shopping.



Day 14: Vancouver - Your tour ends with the check out from your hotel.
