On Day 2, enjoy a guided tour of Toronto, visiting many of they citys captivating highlights. On Day 3 you are free to continue exploring.

Day 4 : Niagara Falls

Todays excursion takes you to the incredible Niagara Falls, truly one of the natural wonders of the world. During our time at the Falls you have time to experience the awesome power of crashing waters, either from the viewing area or at the foot of the thundering Falls on board the Maid of the Mist (payable locally). Continue to Niagara-on-the-Lake, where you have free time to explore. Tonight, board The Canadian in Toronto and begin your journey across the vast expanse of the prairie grasslands towards the Rockies.

Days 5-6: On board The Canadian

The first full day on board is spent crossing the Canadian Shield. On Day 6, arrive in Winnipeg, a fascinating city which is home to over 50 ethnic communities. The train stops in Winnipeg for the morning, providing the opportunity to explore. Continue crossing the prairies and arrive in the province of Saskatchewan in the late evening.

Days 7-8: Through the Rockies to Jasper National Park

After passing Edmonton, begin the climb into the foothills of the Rockies passing pine forests, glaciers, plunging canyons and soaring peaks. Arrive in Jasper in the early afternoon and spend two nights at the Best Western Jasper Inn & Suites, surrounded by majestic mountain scenery. On Day 8, enjoy a tour of Jasper National Park, including the spectacular Maligne Canyon, a 164ft deep gorge of sheer limestone walls, waterfalls and rock formations. Take a rest stop by the gorgeous turquoise waters of Maligne Lake, the largest glacier-fed body of water in the region.

Day 9: The Icefields Parkway

Depart by coach along the world-famous Icefields Parkway, a 144-mile road that links Jasper with Lake Louise and takes you through some of the world's most spectacular mountain scenery. Travel along a lake lined valley past many of the highest and most rugged peaks in the Rockies to the Icefields Centre at the foot of the vast Columbia Icefields. Here, stop to marvel at the breath taking Athabasca Glacier, and you have the option to enjoy an exciting ride over the icefield by giant Snocoach. Continue to Banff for a three-night stay at the Caribou Lodge.

Day 14: Discovering Vancouver

Vancouver, widely regarded as one of the most desirable places in the world to live, combines its breathtaking setting with beautiful architecture and a perfectly-pitched way of life. The city lies between the beautiful Pacific Ocean coastline and the majestic Coastal Mountains. Enjoy morning sightseeing tour visiting historic Gastown, an area of coffee shops, galleries and native art stores. We also experience the exciting scents and sights of Chinatown, and leafy Stanley Park, with its colourful Totem Poles. Days 15-16: Victoria on Vancouver Island

Leave the city of Vancouver today and travel by ferry to Vancouver Island, sailing through the Gulf Islands archipelago, keeping an eye out for wildlife - whales, porpoises, dolphins and seals are all commonly found in these waters, and bald eagles inhabit the area. We spend two nights in Victoria, famous for its idyllic tree-lined avenues and leafy open spaces. On Day 16, you are free to experience Vancouver Island at leisure. Probably the most exciting option is the opportunity to go whale watching, joining one of the boats which leave from Victoria just off the island's southern tip.
